Review of the Previous day:
The market rose marginally on Thursday (March 18, 2010) a net 5.14 points (0.08%) and closed at 6633 point level. The market opened up and continued so until 11:00 hours when it reached its day high at 6645 points. Then it fell and turned into a range bound movement until closing.
The market moved in a narrow range of just 17 points. The index remained above its previous close throughout the day. Sentiment was mixed and 2 of the 3 sectors closed with losses. Amongst stocks with the highest volumes 5 of the top 10 were losers, 3 were gainers and 2 remained unchanged indicating that selective buying and selling had taken place.

WHAT IS EXPECTED TODAY (3/21/2010)
|

Outlook for Today:
On Japanese candlestick patterns the index has formed a third consecutive doji pattern. This indicates that the indecisiveness amongst market men continues. The next candle formation will confirm whether the bias is towards the buy or sell side of the market.
However, the index has risen above its 5 days moving average. The index is now above its 5 and 200 days moving averages. Further, the velocity parameters, which were negatively trended, have now turned neutral. Both these indicate a positive bias and the possibility of a further up move unfolding.
Incidentally, these may be the first signs of a bottoming out pattern. A crossover by the index above the 15 days average will confirm the same.
